Henry C. Carey

Henry C. Carey was an American economist and social theorist from the 1800s. He believed that a strong free-market economy should have government involvement in order to ensure that everyone has the same chance at success. He argued that the only way for a nation to grow and thrive was for the government to make sure everyone had the opportunity to participate in the economy, by offering protections and incentives for businesses to grow and create jobs. He also argued for fair wages for all working people and for the government to invest in public works such as transportation networks, education, and healthcare in order to keep the public healthy and prosperous. In short, Henry C. Carey wanted to make sure that everyone had a chance to participate in the economy, and that no one was left behind.
