ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Hermitian symmetric space

A hermitian symmetric space is like a special shiny ball, like a beach ball but smoother. The ball is made of special materials that make it so that if you push it in one place, it will compress in other places. So if you squish it from one side, the other side will move in too! It's like a balloon but still round and shiny.
