Hesat is a type of genetic editing tool that scientists use to change or "edit" the DNA (the building blocks of life) inside of cells. Scientists use snips or molecular scissors (enzymes) to edit specific parts of the DNA sequence. With Hesat, scientists can change or remove genes related to certain diseases, or make other changes that could improve health or create new treatments. Think of it like editing a picture on your computer - you can change the colors or add new things to make it how you want it. Except with Hesat, scientists are editing the DNA inside of cells to make them work better or prevent disease.
