Hidden Figures
Hidden Figures is a movie about a group of very smart and talented African-American women who were mathematicians and helped NASA send astronauts to space. These women were very skilled in doing math, which is like trying to solve a really hard puzzle. They had to use their brains to figure out how to make rockets and space shuttles fly into space and come back safely to Earth.
The story of Hidden Figures takes place in the 1960s which was a time when being black in America was very hard. Some people thought that African Americans were not as good as white people, and there were laws that made it difficult for black people to do a lot of things. Even though these women were really smart and had the skills to help send astronauts to space, they faced a lot of discrimination and racism.
Despite these challenges, these women worked very hard and proved that they were just as good – if not better – than anyone else. They used their knowledge and determination to help NASA achieve some of the most difficult missions ever completed. They were true heroes and showed everyone that you can accomplish anything if you work hard and believe in yourself.
