The High Middle Ages were a period of European history that lasted from about 1000 A.D. to 1300 A.D. Basically, it's a time when Europe - the part of the world that includes countries like France, Germany, Italy, and England - became really advanced and really powerful. At this time, people built strong castles to protect themselves from invaders, and they built walls around their cities. They started trading with other countries, inventing new technologies like the printing press, and creating new methods of agriculture. They also wrote books and established universities and schools. All of these things made Europe a much more powerful place, and it all happened during the High Middle Ages.
