High value resistors (electronics)

High value resistors are tiny components in electronics that are used to help control the amount of electricity flowing through a circuit. They work like a water pipe, by slowing down or stopping the flow of electricity so it doesn't flow too quickly. They attach to wires and have tiny colored stripes that show the amount of resistance they provide, like scratching your finger along a fabric to help it become thicker. Resistors are important because they make sure the electronic device works safely and doesn't get too much electricity.
