History of Bikaner
Bikaner is a city in the northern part of India. It is located in the state of Rajasthan. A long time ago, around the 15th century, this city was founded by a Rajput prince named Rao Bikaji. At that time, the region was mostly a desert, and it was very difficult to survive here because of the hot and dry weather, lack of water and food.
But Rao Bikaji was a very strong and brave prince. He wanted to build a city and make sure people could live there happily. So, he started exploring the desert and found a place where he could build his city. He named it Bikaner after himself.
Then he started building the city by digging canals to bring water from the nearby rivers. He also built a fort to protect the people from any outside threats. He encouraged many people to come and settle here by giving them land and other benefits.

However, Bikaner was also attacked by many invaders over the years. It was captured by the Mughals, which led to a lot of destruction, but it regained its independence later on. During the British period, Bikaner became a princely state and was ruled by its own kings.
