History of Croatia

Okay kiddo, let me tell you about the history of Croatia!

A long, long time ago, there were different tribes of people living in what we now call Croatia. They eventually came together and formed a kingdom, which lasted for hundreds of years.

In the 1400s, the kingdom became part of a bigger empire called the Habsburg Empire, which was ruled by an emperor named Ferdinand. But in the 1800s, the people of Croatia started to want more independence and control over their own country.

They were successful in getting some autonomy, but then World War I happened and things got complicated. After the war, Croatia joined with other countries to form a new country called Yugoslavia, which was led by a guy named Tito.

Yugoslavia lasted for several decades, but then it fell apart in the 1990s. Croatia declared independence and there was a big war between different groups of people who lived there. Eventually, Croatia became its own country again and has been working to build itself up ever since.

So you see, Croatia has a very long and complex history, but it's full of interesting people and events that have helped shape the country into what it is today!
