History of Novi Sad

Novi Sad is a place that lots of people have lived in for a really long time. Even way back when there were no computers or phones or TVs, people still called Novi Sad home.

A long, long time ago, lots of different groups of people lived in this place. Some of these people were the Romans, who lived here over two thousand years ago! Other people who lived here include the Hungarians, Serbs, and Austrians. All of these different groups of people had their own languages, cultures, and traditions.

Over time, Novi Sad grew and changed. New buildings were made, new families moved in, and the city became even more diverse. Some really important things happened in Novi Sad too! In 1848, there was a big rebellion, which means that a lot of people were angry and wanted to change things. This rebellion led to some really important changes in how the city was run.

Today, Novi Sad is an awesome place with lots of cool things to see and do. There are lots of museums, parks, and restaurants to check out, and the people who live there are still just as diverse and interesting as they were thousands of years ago!
