History of San Bernardino, California

San Bernardino is a city in the state of California, which is located in the United States. The history of San Bernardino goes back many, many years. Before people from Europe arrived in the area, the land was inhabited by the Serrano people, who were Native Americans. These people had their own way of living, and they built structures and homes that were made out of natural materials such as animal skins, sticks, and stones.

When the Spanish arrived in the San Bernardino area in the late 1700s, they established missions to share Christianity with the Native Americans. Eventually, the area became a part of Mexico, which was a large country that included California at the time. Later, when the United States took over California, San Bernardino became a part of the new state.

In the early 1900s, San Bernardino became a popular destination for the citrus industry. This is because the weather in the area is perfect for growing oranges and other citrus fruits. People from all over the country started coming to San Bernardino to work in these orchards.
