Gravitational theory is all about how things are attracted to each other. Imagine that you are playing with a ball and you throw it up in the air. The ball will fall back down to the ground because the Earth is pulling on it.
Many years ago, a man named Isaac Newton came up with a way to explain why things are attracted to each other. He called it the law of gravity. Newton noticed that everything on Earth – the trees and the animals and even you – is pulled towards the ground. He realized that it was because the Earth has its own gravity, which pulls everything towards its center.
Then, another man named Albert Einstein came up with a new theory of gravity. He said that gravity isn't just a force that pulls things together, but it's actually a bend in space and time. This means that if something is really heavy, it will bend space and time around it, which will cause other things to be pulled towards it. This theory is called general relativity.
Nowadays, scientists are still trying to understand the gravity in the universe better. They study how planets move around each other, how black holes work, and how the universe itself is expanding. There is still so much more to learn about gravitational theory!
