Organic farming is a way of growing food that doesn't use chemicals like pesticides or fertilizers. People have been growing their own food this way for centuries and it's still popular today. Farmers use natural methods to control pests, like beneficial insects and crop rotation. Organic farming also encourages keeping soil healthy by using compost and other natural methods. The first use of the term “organic” to describe food production was in 1940 in the book “The Living Soil” written by Lady Eve Balfour. Since then, people have been advocating for organic food production, and more and more people are switching to organic farming.
