History of the Kinetograph, Kinetoscope, and Kinetophonograph
Long ago, people wanted to watch moving pictures of things they loved or stories they wanted to see. But they didn't know how to make it happen until a team of really smart people came together to create the kinetograph. It was a special machine that could make pictures move!
But just making the pictures move wasn't enough. People needed a way to watch them too. That's when they created the kinetoscope. It looked like a big box with a peephole on top. When you looked through the peephole, you could see the moving pictures on a loop.
But there was one more problem to solve. People couldn't hear what was happening in the movies! That's why they made the kinetophonograph. It was a mix of the kinetoscope and a phonograph. The phonograph played sound while the kinetoscope showed pictures. Together, they created the first movies with sound!
