Hohokam were people who lived a very long time ago in what is now the southern part of Arizona. They were very smart and made lots of things to help them live. They made special canals to bring water to their farms, and they built homes out of mud and sticks. Some of their homes were big and looked like hills, and they lived in them with their families. They also made really cool pottery and jewelry, and they liked to play games too. But then something happened and most of the Hohokam disappeared. Nobody knows exactly what happened to them, but we can still learn a lot about them by looking at the things they left behind.
