Holt–Oram syndrome

Holt-Oram Syndrome is something some people are born with that affects how their body develops.

This syndrome is rare and is caused by a problem with a gene. The gene is like a set of instructions that tells our body how to grow and develop.

When someone has Holt-Oram Syndrome, their arms and hands may look different from other people's arms and hands. They may have fewer fingers or they may have fingers that are shaped differently. They might also have problems with their heart.

This syndrome is named after the doctors who first noticed it, and it’s important that people with this syndrome get medical care throughout their lives so they can stay as healthy as possible.
