Have you ever played a game with a bunch of levels, and at the start of the game there's a screen with all the levels listed out that you can choose from? That's what a home page is like for a website. It's the first page you see when you visit a website, and it has a bunch of different things on it that you can click on to go to different parts of the website, just like choosing a level in a game.
The home page is like the front door of a house. When you go to visit someone, you first go to their front door and from there, you can go anywhere inside the house. Similarly, when you open your web browser and type in a website address, the first page, or the home page, that you see is like the front door of the website. From there, you can go anywhere inside the website.
A home page has a lot of information on it, just like a house. It can have pictures, links to other pages, stories, videos and much more. It's kind of like a map of the website. Just like a map helps us find our way around a city or country, the home page helps us find our way around the website.
If you're ever lost on a website or don't know where to go next, just click the "home" button and it will take you back to the home page. From there, you can start over and choose a new "level" or section to explore.
