Homogeneity and heterogeneity

When you have a bunch of things that are all the same, that's called homogeneity. For example, if you have a bunch of red apples, they all look the same - that's homogeneity!

On the other hand, when you have a bunch of things that are different from each other, that's called heterogeneity. For example, if you have a bunch of fruits and vegetables, there will be different colors, shapes, and sizes - that's heterogeneity!

So, think of homogeneity as when things are all the same, and heterogeneity as when things are different from each other.
