Honorific

An honorific is kind of like when you call someone by a special name or title to show respect or show that they're important. Like when you call your teacher "Mrs. [ or Mr. ] So-and-So" or when you call your grandmother "Nana". It's a way of being polite and honoring someone. Some honorifics are used for specific professions or positions, like "Doctor" for someone who is a medical doctor or "Mayor" for someone who is the leader of a city. Honorifics can also be used differently in different cultures.
