ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Honour thy father and thy mother

Honour thy father and thy mother is a rule that reminds us to be good to our parents. Our parents are the people who made us and take care of us when we are younger. They feed us, take us to school, nurse us when we are sick, and love us very much. Just like how we want people to be good to us, we should also be good to our parents. This means listening when they talk to us, not speaking to them in a rude or disrespectful way, following the rules they set for us, helping them when they need it, and thanking them for everything they do for us. It is important to remember that our parents love us and want what is best for us, so we should show them love and respect in return.
