Hoop cheese

Okay kiddo, so hoop cheese is a type of cheese that is made in big round hoops, like hula hoops, which is where it gets its name from. It's usually a yellow, mild cheddar cheese that's been aged for several months to make it taste even better.

To make the cheese, milk from cows is heated up and mixed with special ingredients called enzymes and bacteria. These ingredients help turn the milk into a thick, gooey substance called curds. The curds are then pressed and shaped into a round hoop and left to age for a while so they harden up and get all cheesy.

When you go to eat hoop cheese, you usually slice it up into wedges or chunks, and it's great for snacking on or putting on sandwiches. Some people even melt it on top of things like burgers or macaroni and cheese for an extra yummy treat.

So there you have it, hoop cheese is just a really tasty cheese that's made in big round shapes and makes for a delicious snack or meal ingredient.
