Horizontal situation indicator

A horizontal situation indicator is a special tool that helps pilots know where they are in the sky. It looks a lot like a clock with one big hand and one little hand.

The big hand tells the pilot which way the airplane is flying. If the hand is pointing straight up, it means the airplane is flying straight ahead. If it's pointing to the left, it means the airplane is turning left.

The little hand helps the pilot know what angle the airplane is flying at. If the hand is pointing straight up, it means the airplane is flying level. But if it's pointing to the right or left, it means the airplane is flying at an angle.

The horizontal situation indicator also shows a little airplane symbol that helps the pilot know which way the airplane is pointing. And it has some other symbols that can help the pilot stay safe, like a little flag that shows if the airplane is going too fast or too slow.

Overall, the horizontal situation indicator is a really important tool that helps pilots stay in control of their airplanes and fly safely.
