Horkos

Well, horkos is a fancy word that means a very serious promise or oath that people used to make in ancient times. When someone made a horkos, they were saying that they would do exactly what they promised, and if they didn't, there would be big consequences like being punished by the gods. It was kind of like making a really, really big promise that you couldn't break, no matter what. People would make a horkos before important events, like going to battle or making an important decision. Nowadays, people don't really use the word "horkos" anymore, but we still have promises and oaths that we make in our lives.
