Greek mythology is a collection of stories and characters from Ancient Greece. It tells of stories about gods, goddesses, heroes and monsters. The gods had special powers and often got involved in the lives of mortals, either helping them or causing them grief. Hercules is an example of a hero and Medusa is an example of a monster in Greek mythology. The stories were told to teach lessons about how to behave and how to overcome obstacles.
