Winter is a time when it gets cold outside and there is less daylight. During winter, the Sun's light and warmth doesn't reach us as much as during other seasons. When it is winter, some animals hibernate, which means they sleep for a long time to stay warm. People wear warm clothes like coats, sweaters, and hats to keep from getting too cold. During winter, you can have fun playing in the cold by building snowmen, having snowball fights, skiing, or skating.
