ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Host protected area

Host Protected Area, or HPA, is a special area inside a computer's hard drive that is reserved for storing important software and security information. This means that if something on your computer needs to be protected and not deleted, like a virus, it can be stored safely in the HPA. It also means that if someone accidentally deletes something important, like a photo or important files, it may still be retrievable in the HPA area. The HPA is like a hidden safe in your computer that you never have to worry about losing anything you need!
