Hot Standby Router Protocol

Hot standby router protocol (HSRP) is like having a backup plan for the internet. It is a way of having two separate internet routers that work together to make sure that your internet connection is always running. One router will be designated as the primary router, which will be the one that handles all of your internet traffic. The second router will serve as a backup and will only be used when the primary router goes down. That way, if something ever happens to the primary router, the backup router will take over and you won't lose your internet connection.
