Sometimes, grown-ups can feel very unhappy or upset about something. When they feel this way, it's called being angry. If they keep feeling that way for a long time, it's called "hours of anger."
It might be helpful to imagine that feeling angry is like having a storm inside of you. Just like a storm outside can be loud, windy, and full of lightning, a storm of anger can be loud, too. It can make people want to yell, scream, or even throw things.
But, just like a storm outside eventually passes, so does a storm of anger. Grown-ups can try to calm themselves down by taking deep breaths, counting to ten, or talking to someone they trust. They might also need to take a break by doing something they enjoy or taking a nap.
It's important for grown-ups to remember that everyone gets angry sometimes, but it's important to try to control it so that it doesn't hurt anyone else or yourself.
