Hug machine

A hug machine is a special kind of machine that gives people hugs. It doesn't work like a regular machine that has buttons and screens. Instead, it works by squeezing people in a gentle way that helps them feel calm and happy.

The machine looks like a small booth or box with padding and soft materials inside. When someone comes in, they can stand or sit down and put their arms around the padding. Then, the machine gives them a hug by inflating or compressing the padding gently around them.

The idea behind a hug machine is that some people, especially those with sensory issues or stress, may feel better when they receive pressure or touch in a controlled way. It can help them feel less anxious and more connected to their bodies and emotions.

Hug machines were invented by Temple Grandin, an animal behaviorist and autism advocate who wanted to create a way for herself and others to experience deep pressure and sensations in a safe and calming way. They are sometimes used in therapy and as a tool for relaxation, but they are not a substitute for human touch or emotional connection.

If you ever see a hug machine, you can feel free to try it out and see how it feels. It might be a little strange at first, but it could also be a fun and helpful way to feel better and more grounded.
