Human rights are a set of rules that make sure everyone is treated fairly and with respect. Just like how we have rules at home or at school, countries and governments have rules too, called laws. But sometimes, these laws don't protect everybody – that's why we have human rights.
For example, one human right is the right to be safe and free from harm, like being hurt or abused. Another human right is the right to have food, water, and a place to live. These rights are given to every person, no matter where they come from, what they believe in, or what they look like.
It's important for us to know these rights because they help us live a happy and healthy life. Plus, when we know our rights, we can make sure that other people are treated with respect too. That's why we need to stand up and speak out when we see someone being treated unfairly or when someone's human rights are being violated.
By knowing our human rights and making sure they are protected, we can build a better world for everyone to live in.
