ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Human body weight

Your body weight is how heavy you are when you stand on a scale. Your weight can change depending on what you eat, how much you move around and exercise, and other things that affect your body.

Our bodies are made up of lots of different parts such as bones, muscles, organs, and fat. These parts all weigh different amounts, which is why some people can look very different even if they weigh the same.

When we say someone is "overweight" that means they weigh more than is healthy for their body. This can happen when a person eats too much unhealthy food or does not get enough exercise. Sometimes, people can also be overweight because of genetics, which means they may have a harder time keeping their weight in a healthy range.

Being overweight can be harmful to our bodies because it can increase our risk of things like heart disease, diabetes, and other health problems. That's why it's important to eat healthy foods, stay active, and take care of our bodies to help stay at a healthy weight.
