ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Obesity

Obesity is when a person's body is carrying too much extra weight, usually from eating too much food that is not healthy or doing too little physical activity or exercise. When we eat food, our body uses the energy from the food to help us move around and do things. But if we eat more food than our body needs, the extra energy gets stored in our body as fat. When a person has too much fat in their body, they can become obese.

Obesity is not good for our bodies because it can cause health problems like diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, and sleep apnea. To avoid obesity, it's important to eat a balanced and healthy diet with plenty of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, and to stay active by doing exercise or playing outside. We should also try to limit our intake of sugary and fatty foods, which can contribute to obesity. By staying healthy and active, we can keep our bodies strong and happy!
