Human trafficking in the People's Republic of China
Human trafficking is when bad people trick or force others to leave their homes and take them to different places where they are treated very badly.
In China, this is something that happens a lot, especially to girls and women. Sometimes people promise that they will provide them with jobs or help them move to another country, but when they get there, they are treated as slaves and forced to work for very little money.
It is very hard for these people to escape because they are watched very closely and are not allowed to leave. Even if they do manage to escape, they often do not have any money or anywhere to go, so they are stuck in a strange place all alone.
