ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Huqúqu'lláh

Huqúqu'lláh is a special rule in the Bahá'í faith that says if you make some money or have some valuable things, you need to give a little bit of it to the Huqúqu'lláh fund. This fund helps to support important things in the Bahá'í community, like building places of worship, helping people who are in need, and spreading the Bahá'í teachings to others.

It's kind of like when you get some money for your birthday or for doing chores, your mom or dad might ask you to put some of it in your piggy bank or give some to charity. That way, you can still have some money to spend on things you want, but you're also helping other people at the same time.

In the Bahá'í faith, giving to the Huqúqu'lláh fund is seen as a way to show gratitude for the blessings you have received, and to help support the spiritual growth and well-being of the community. It's not meant to be a burden or a punishment, but rather a way to share and give back in a spirit of love and generosity.
