Hydraulic brake

Hydraulic brakes are like magic brakes for your bike or car. They use a special liquid called “brake fluid” to make the brakes work. The brake fluid is inside a long tube, called a “brake line”, that connects the brake lever or pedal to the actual brakes on the wheels.

When you press the brake lever or pedal, it squeezes a small piston in a tiny container full of brake fluid. This pushes the brake fluid through the brake line and to the brakes on your wheels. When the brake fluid reaches the brakes near the wheels, it pushes another small piston that squeezes the brake pads against the spinning wheel. This makes the wheel stop spinning and the vehicle stops moving too.
