Hydride

Well, imagine you have some tiny little particles that are made up of hydrogen atoms. These particles are called hydrides.

Now, when hydrogen atoms join up with other elements, like metals or non-metals, they can form these hydride particles. These particles can be really important in all kinds of ways.

For example, they can be used in nuclear reactors to help control the reactions that are happening inside. They can also be used to store and transport hydrogen gas, which is really important for some types of clean energy technology.

But there are also some types of hydrides that aren't so great. Some of them can even be kinda dangerous! So scientists are always studying and learning more about hydrides, and figuring out how to use them in the best way possible.
