Hydrogen infrastructure

Hydrogen infrastructure is the system of supplies, services and production that is needed to use and make hydrogen, an energy source. Hydrogen is a type of gas and is most commonly found in water, though it can be made from other sources like natural gas. To use hydrogen as an energy source, we need an infrastructure (like a road system) to build and store the hydrogen, and to move it around. There are special places called refueling stations that are used to pump hydrogen out of a storage tank and fill up cars, trucks, and buses with it. There are also special machines called reformers and electrolyzers that help to create hydrogen from other energy sources. All of these pieces of infrastructure work together to help us use hydrogen as a clean and renewable energy source.
