ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Hydrophile

A hydrophile is like a puppy who loves water! Just like how you love to jump and splash in puddles or play in the bath, a hydrophile also loves to be around water too. It's a special material that attracts water molecules and makes them stick together. That's why when you pour a glass of water, the water molecules all stick together and form a big puddle!

Think of it like a magnet that attracts water molecules, just like a magnet attracts metal. And just like how you can't separate two magnets once they stick together, you can't separate water molecules once they form a puddle. So a hydrophile loves being around water and makes it stick together!
