ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Hypomasculinity

Hypomasculinity is when someone doesn't feel like they fit into what society traditionally thinks a "man" should be like. You know how sometimes people say that boys don't cry or shouldn't like things that are considered girly? Well, if someone doesn't feel comfortable acting the way that society says boys or men should act, that could be a form of hypomasculinity. Sometimes people might feel like they don't have enough muscles or aren't tough enough to be a "real man," or they might not enjoy doing things that are typically associated with men, like playing sports or working on cars. But it's important to remember that everyone is different, and it's okay to be yourself, no matter what society says.
