ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Hypothetical star

A star is like a big, glowing ball of gas up in the sky. A hypothetical star means it's a star that we imagine exists, but we haven't actually seen it yet. We use science and math to study how stars form and behave, and sometimes we think there might be stars out there that we haven't discovered yet. So we imagine what they might be like based on what we know so far. It's kind of like when you close your eyes and make up a story using your imagination, except scientists use their imaginations to learn more about the universe!
