IATA airport code

Okay kiddo, so you know how airports have names, like John F. Kennedy or Heathrow? Well, sometimes people use a shorter code to make it easier, kind of like a nickname for the airport. This shorter code is called an IATA airport code.

It's kind of like how your friends might have nicknames too, like Emily might be Em or Kevin might be Kev. It's still their name, but just a shorter way of saying it sometimes.

The IATA airport code is made up of three letters and it's used to identify airports all around the world. For example, New York's John F. Kennedy Airport is known as JFK and London's Heathrow Airport is known as LHR.

So, if you're going on a trip and need to find your flights details, you can see the IATA airport code on your tickets or on the airport's website to know which airport you're flying to or from.
