Ice pigging

Okay kiddo, have you ever seen a water slide at a theme park? You know how the water slides down and washes away any dirt or debris? Well, engineers came up with a similar idea for cleaning out pipes that carry liquids like water or oil.

Ice pigging is like a mini water slide for pipes, but instead of water, they use little ice slushies to clean out any leftover gunk or residue. They create the ice slushies by mixing water with a special kind of gel that freezes really quickly.

Once they have the slushies ready, they pump them into the pipe and let them slide down like a sled. As the ice slushies move along, they scrape against the inside of the pipe, sort of like a scraper or a squeegee, and pick up any leftover dirt, grease or debris on their way.

At the end of the line, they collect the slushies and any materials they picked up, leaving the pipe nice and clean. This helps the liquid flowing in the pipe run smoothly and efficiently.

So, ice pigging is a fun and efficient way to clean pipes and make sure they're working properly. Easy peasy, right kiddo?
