ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Ice volcano

An ice volcano is a volcano made of ice. Ice volcanoes look like regular volcanoes, but instead of hot lava, they eject liquid water or other kinds of liquid because below the ice, there is warm liquid water. Sometimes the warm water comes up through cracks in the ice and freezes on the outside, creating a cone-shaped mountain of ice.

It's like when you pour water on a snowball and it freezes, creating more snow around the ball. But instead of snow, it's ice, and instead of a ball, it's a mountain. So, an ice volcano is like a mountain made of ice instead of rock, with water or other liquids spitting out of the top.

Ice volcanoes are rare and are usually found in colder places like Antarctica or on frozen lakes in winter. They are cool to see, but they can be dangerous if you get too close because the warm water can be very hot, and the ice can break if there is too much pressure.
