Ichthyology

Ichthyology is a fancy word that means the study of fish! Just like how you learn about different animals in school, there are people who love to learn everything they can about fish.

These people look at things like the different types of fish, what they eat, where they live, how they're related to each other, and what they do in their habitats. They also study things like how fish reproduce, how they breathe (using their gills to breathe underwater!), and how they move through the water.

Ichthyologists use special tools like nets and underwater cameras to catch and study fish. They also take pictures and notes to help them remember what they've seen. They try to learn everything they can about each type of fish so they can help protect them and make sure they don't become endangered or go extinct.

So basically, ichthyologists are people who really love fish and want to learn as much about them as possible so they can help take care of them.
