Okay kiddo, so picture a bunch of pictures, like little drawings that all mean something different. Each of these pictures is called an "icon".
Now, let's say we want to figure out if two things are related to each other. We can use something called "correlations" to do that. Correlations are like clues that help us solve a mystery.
So, to help us understand these correlations, we can use these icons. For example, let's say we're trying to figure out if eating lots of vegetables is related to being healthy. We might have an icon of a carrot for vegetables and a smiley face for being healthy.
If we see lots of carrots and lots of smiley faces together, that means there's a strong correlation between eating vegetables and being healthy. If we see mostly frown faces with only a few carrots, that means there isn't a strong correlation between eating vegetables and being healthy.
So, the icons help us understand whether or not two things are related to each other. And that's the iconography of correlations, in a nutshell!
