ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Implicit learning

Implicit learning is when our brains learn things without us even realizing it! Just like how you learned to walk and talk without anyone telling you exactly how to do it.

When we do something repetitively, like playing a video game or riding a bike, our brains start to pick up on patterns and "remember" them, without us even trying. We don't have to think about every little movement we make, it just happens automatically. This is called implicit learning.

For example, have you ever played a new game and after a few tries, you start getting better and better without even thinking about it? That's your brain using implicit learning to remember the patterns in the game and get better at it, even if you can't explain exactly how you did it.

Another example of implicit learning is when we learn language. We don't learn it by memorizing grammar rules or vocabulary lists, we just start picking up on the patterns of our language and eventually, we're able to speak fluently without even thinking about it.

So, implicit learning is when our brains learn things automatically, without us even realizing it, by picking up on patterns and repetition. It's like having a superpower that helps us get better at things without even trying!
