Elitism is when some people in society are seen as better or more important than others. It means that only a small group of people, usually people with power or money, get special privileges. The other people in society don't get the same benefits and don't have the same influence on decisions that affect them. This type of behavior only benefits the people in the elite group, but doesn't help all of society.
