Indigenous territories of Costa Rica

Indigenous territories in Costa Rica are special places where native people, who have been living in that area for a very long time, have made a home. These special places are protected by the government, which means that people who do not belong to that community cannot just come and take over the land.

These indigenous territories have a lot of plants and animals that are unique to that area. The people who live there have a special connection with the land, and they use the natural resources in a sustainable way, which means that they take care of the land, so that it continues to provide resources for future generations.

The government helps the people who live in these territories to maintain their way of life and traditions. For example, the government supports them in the protection of their language, their culture, and their ancestral knowledge.

Now, imagine you have a toy that nobody else can play with unless you give them permission. That's kind of like indigenous territories in Costa Rica. The land and everything that lives there belongs to the indigenous people who are the caretakers, and nobody else can just come and take it without their permission.
