Induced pluripotent stem cell

Okay kiddo, so remember how we learned about stem cells? They're special cells that are like the building blocks of our bodies. They can turn into any type of cell, like skin cells, muscle cells, or even brain cells.

Well, scientists found out a way to make special stem cells called "induced pluripotent stem cells," or iPSCs for short. They do this by taking regular adult cells, like skin cells, and adding certain molecules that make them go back in time and become stem cells again.

These iPSCs are really cool because they act just like embryonic stem cells, but without using any embryos. This way, scientists can study how diseases happen and test new medicines without harming anyone. And maybe someday, they can use these iPSCs to fix damaged parts of our bodies! How neat is that?
