ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Inductive charging

Inductive charging means that you use magnetism to transfer energy from one place to another without having to plug anything in. It works like this: you have an inductive charger, which would be like a special charger plate or a mat, and you put your device (like a phone or a tablet) on the charger. Then, an electric current runs through the charger, which creates an invisible magnetic field (like a bubble of magnetism around the charger). When you put your device in the charger, it is ‘sucked’ up by the magnetic field, and the electric current also travels through your device and charges it up. That way, you don't need any wires or plugs, you just place your device on the charger and it charges up automatically!
