Infant mortality

When babies are first born, they are very tiny and fragile. They need a lot of help and care from their parents and doctors to grow healthy and strong. Unfortunately, sometimes babies can get sick or hurt very badly, and they may not be able to survive. This is called infant mortality.

There are many things that can cause infant mortality. Some babies are born too early and have not finished developing yet, so their bodies may not be able to work properly. Other babies may have problems with their hearts or other organs that make it hard for them to breathe or eat.

In some parts of the world, there are also things like poor nutrition, lack of clean water or medical care, and diseases that can make it even harder for babies to stay healthy. This is why it's important for parents and doctors to work together to keep babies safe and healthy.

Thankfully, with advances in medicine and better access to healthcare, infant mortality rates have gone down a lot over the years. But it's still important to be aware of the risks and do everything we can to protect our little ones.
